Striking Mechanism: Quartet Solo Series (sm0001)NEWS: Quartet Solo Series (sm0001) is now available for purchase. During the past several months, the label has been working on the final details regarding the release of four solo works composed and performed by four different composers. The recent release of these four works is the first in a series the label has dubbed its Quartet Solo Series. The idea behind the label’s Quartet Solo Series is to release four composers’ solo works as four separate “albums” on one CD. The first release in this series took place in May 2008 and includes works by Jonathan Chen, electronics; Andrew Raffo Dewar, soprano saxophone; Marina Peterson, cello; and Phillip Schulze, electronics.
