An Investment in Imagination is a combined benefit celebrating the 26th anniversary of Heaven Gallery and Equity Arts' 7-year journey to buy a historical arts building to launch The Center for the Creative Economy!
Rooted in preserving Heaven Gallery’s legacy as a vital community third space in Wicker Park, the Equity Arts project will become the energetic architecture that utilizes Cultural Futurism to establish a new economy based on personal identity and gifts. The project shifts consciousness from scarcity to abundance for the arts by securing a revenue-generating real estate asset that reinvests its wealth into a resilient arts ecosystem for generations to come.
The evening's fashion theme, Cultural Futurism, pairs minimal silhouettes with personal cultural detail. This intimate evening will include craft cocktails/mocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a sit-down community dinner featuring a curated three-course meal by artist Sarah Belknap, with music by Cordell Johnson. Part of the event is a silent art auction with work by Chicago artists and a raffle featuring unique items and gift cards from local businesses. Come celebrate Heaven Gallery's legacy and Equity Arts' future of shared economic power through this intentional investment in imagination.
Artists featured in the silent auction include: Gwendolyn Zabicki, Michelle Chun, Monica Rezman, Tess Mickalik, James Schenck, Michelle Stone, Edra Soto, Tish Noel, Yvette Kaiser Smith, Nico Gardner, Vesna Jovanovic, Megan Williamson, and Cydney M. Lewis.
